Therapeutic riding is shaped around you

Equine therapeutic riding lessons give you more than time in the saddle. We tailor each session around your confidence, wellbeing and personal development, so you can move at a pace that feels right. Our work supports children and adults who need a calmer, more individual approach, including neurodivergent riders and those with complex life experiences. In Salisbury, Springall Equestrian Services creates a safe space where trust can grow naturally through steady contact with horses. That can mean building confidence after a difficult period, finding a new way to engage, or simply enjoying meaningful progress without pressure. We've been supporting riders, and every lesson is adapted to suit your goals rather than forcing you into a fixed routine.

A calm and carefully adapted approach

Your session is shaped around how you respond on the day, not around a rigid plan. We take time to understand your pace, your comfort level and the kind of support that helps you feel secure around horses. That makes these lessons especially valuable for children in care and for adults who may not feel at ease in busier riding settings. Our one-to-one format allows us to focus on small wins that matter, from steady communication to growing independence. Around Salisbury, that kind of thoughtful support is what brings many families and carers to Springall Equestrian Services.

Why therapeutic riding can make a real difference

Time with horses can encourage focus, routine and emotional regulation in a way that feels natural rather than forced. Riding also supports your body awareness and balance, while groundwork can help you feel more settled and connected. Progress often comes through repetition, patience and trust, which is why a personalised setting matters so much. Our approach keeps the experience welcoming, steady and meaningful from the very first visit. We also offer horse riding lessons alongside our breaking and schooling services to support both rider and horse progression.

Frequently asked questions

Lynn Young, Google

While on holiday for my daughters birthday, we booked lessons for her with Charlotte. From the minute we arrived at the stables, she received a very different experience to her lessons back home. She was taken through stable management and saddling up, which she had never been taught before. She has autism and we could not fault Charlotte. She quickly had her feeling confident and happy. I honestly can not recommend her highly enough. My only problem was we dont live near enough to continue lessons with Charlotte, as I am sure she would have become a much better rider under Charlotte's guidance. You made her birthday for her Charlotte, and she will treasure her horse shoe. Thank you. We loved meeting you.
